ALCEA Healthcare Solutions was founded by passionate health care professionals dedicated to redefining the living experience of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
ALCEA believes that all individuals with IDD, regardless of race, religion, or culture, have the same rights as others to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
ALCEA will offer support for disabilities to individuals under the DDA Community Pathways Waiver and Community Supports Waiver programs. Those who utilize our residential services will be individuals with IDD, requiring support in either an agency-operated residential environment (Community Living - Group Home) or assistance to live independently in their homes and communities.
Mission: The mission of ALCEA is to provide individualized, holistic, and optimal care to a diverse group of individuals with IDD.
Vision: The vision of ALCEA Healthcare Solutions is to deliver exemplary person-centered services to individuals with IDD. ALCEA aims to provide our culturally diverse clientele with opportunities for independent residential living and assistance in achieving their personal goals.
Community Residential Services:
(Daily Respite in Community Living Group Home (CLGH), Community Living – Group Home & Community Living-Group Home Trial Experience:
At Alcea Healthcare Solutions, our community living services focus on providing Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) the development, acquisition, and maintenance of skills related to activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental ADLs, and socialization in a supportive residential setting. The residential services we offer are tailored to meet the needs of each Individual, as outlined in their person-centered plan. The CLGH environment will include, but is not limited to, the following categories of support:
- Learning socially acceptable behavior;
- Learning effective communication;
- Learning self-direction and problem-solving;
- Engaging in safety practices;
- Performing household chores in a safe and effective manner;
- Performing self-care; and
- Learning skills for employment (if applicable to the Individual).
Nursing Support Services:
ALCEA’s nursing support services encompass nursing consultation, health case management, and delegation services tailored to the Individual’s assessed needs. Nursing services will be delivered by Registered Nurses (RN) in accordance with the scope of their nursing licensure as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing. These professionals have also completed training from the Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) for RN/Case Manager/Delegating Nurse, along with the Health Risk Screening Tool Rater and Reviewer Training.
Personal Support:
ALCEA offers up to 81 hours a week of personal support services to Individuals living independently in their own residence, with family, or with unrelated housemates. Our support for disabilities includes habilitative services that assist Individuals in acquiring, building, or maintaining the skills necessary to maximize their personal independence in the community. We provide assistance, training, and support with:
- Assistance with activities of daily living (ADL);
- Skill building and development needed for community integration and independent living;
- Medication administration and management;
- Effective communication and social skills;
- Assistance with errands, groceries, and meal preparation;
- Navigating resources within the community; and
- Providing resources for public transportation, thereby encouraging and promoting social and leisure activities.
Respite Care Services:
ALCEA provides short-term respite care designed to give relief and support to an Individual’s family members or primary caregivers. These services may be delivered in the Individual’s home, the home of a relative, the home of a DDA-certified respite care provider, or in a licensed community residential site.
Transportation Services:
ALCEA will provide or arrange safe, reliable, and appropriate transportation, such as metro access, to ensure Individuals can access vital community and social activities.
Dorinda is a registered nurse with 26 years of experience, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Transcultural Nursing. Her professional background encompasses Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Clinical Trials, Regulatory Oversight, and Compliance. Additionally, she serves as a Delegating Nurse for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) within the community living framework.
Dorinda's education and training in transcultural nursing have equipped her with the skills to deliver culturally congruent care that prioritizes the individual. She utilizes knowledge and culturally based methods to provide meaningful and satisfying holistic care, which aligns with the residential services offered at Alcea.
Outside of her professional life, Dorinda enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, and is deeply passionate about fitness. Her enthusiasm for fitness almost led her to a career in exercise physiology.
As a valued member of the ALCEA team, she is eager to share her passion with ALCEA residents by incorporating an active health and fitness regimen into their daily living, tailored to each individual's capability. Her focus is on simple, engaging, adaptive, and individual-centered activities that promote health and overall wellness, providing essential support for disabilities.
Jeannette is a registered nurse with over 26 years of experience, her career has encompassed the full continuum of care from acute care settings to community living, post-acute services, and nursing focused on support for disabilities.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washington Adventist University, establishing a solid foundation in critical care nursing, case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and home health care.
Additionally, Jeannette functions as a Community Group Home Delegating Nurse, where she provides oversight and clinical support for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Her extensive expertise, combined with her passion for quality care and advocacy, continues to guide Alcea in delivering compassionate, client-centered residential services.
Jeannette enjoys traveling to explore new places and cultures; her greatest joy comes from being the proud mother of two beautiful girls who inspire her to live with kindness and purpose. She is also the 8th of 10 children. Growing up in a family filled with love, resilience, and connection nurtured Jeannette's belief that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and included.
Jeannette remains motivated by the joy of witnessing individuals with developmental disabilities grow, thrive, and share their unique gifts. She collaborates with family members, advocates, staff, and specialists to help build a world where no one is left behind and every life is celebrated.
DAY HABILITATION: ALCEA Healthcare Solutions will collaborate with other providers to deliver structured Day Habilitation services aimed at promoting independence, skill-building, and community integration for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Our programs focus on developing daily living skills, enhancing socialization, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and fostering meaningful engagement in community activities. Through personalized care plans and evidence-based practices, the Day Habilitation team at Alcea ensures that each individual receives the necessary support for disabilities to achieve personal goals, build confidence, and maximize their quality of life within a safe and supportive environment, ultimately contributing to their community living experience.

For individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), we prioritize making fitness accessible, engaging, and tailored to each person’s unique abilities and interests as part of our residential services.
